PlayStation TGS 2016 Press Conference Round Up

Here’s a round up of everything shown or announced during Sony’s Tokyo games Show PlayStation presentation:

  • Final Fantasy XV branded PS4 Slim shown for Japanese market
  • SaGa Scarlet Grace out this December on PSVita
  • New PSVita colours to be released in Japan

  • Koei Tecmo announces Ni-Oh with a Global PS4 Launch, 9th February, and Musou Stars
  • PlayStation VR sizzle reel screened
  • Summer Lesson shown as a VR launch title, flirt with … a Japanese schoolgirl…
  • Sony Japan Studio and Acquire working on mystery VR game, trailer shown
  • Resident Evil ‘music video’ shown for VR, available launch day, L’Arc-en-Ciel will do battle with ZOMBIES!
  • Anywhere VR by Sony Music Entertainment shown as a relaxing VR environment
  • PlayStation VR Pre-Orders re-opened and stock ‘boosted’ in Japan, starting 24th September
  • Japan only Sports Streaming Service, DAZN announced for PS3 and PS4
  • PlayStation Now coming to PC on 20th September in Japan, previously made available in USA and UK
  • Sony presents ‘Forward Works’, a new development studio dedicated to Mobile Games.


  • Granblue Fantasy: Project Re:Link announced for PS4 for 2018, developed by Cygames
  • Hideo Kojima appeared on stage
  • Death Stranding shaping up to be an online action game, Kojima claims the team has “reduced action gaming to it’s most basic level”
  • Death Stranding will support 4K and HDR visuals with PS4 Pro
  • Watch Dogs, Killzone: Shadow Fall, God of War on sale on Japanese PlayStation Store, ‎¥999 each
  • Gravity Rush Remastered will be free on PS Plus in Japan

As expected, a very Japan-centric presentation, but some promising announcements and details nevertheless. Stay tuned for more.
